Agenda for ORT 2/17/22

This week we will continue looking at inclusion and Universal Design for Learning as we think about developing our courses by planning for learner variability. If you have not already explored the information about Universal Design for Learning, please do that first. To be best prepared for this week’s ORT, please review the hyperlinked materials on this post.

Whether or not you are familiar with the term UDL, you are likely already implementing some of the core ideas and/or guidelines. For concrete ways to implement UDL (inclusive teaching) in your classes, explore these Inclusive Pedagogy ideas from University of ChicagoThis is a vast website with tons of information and ideas about inclusive teaching, so for now just check out the “Get Started” parts.  Note: you can access all of the articles and PDFs, but will not be able to access videos.

Next, here is a short article from the Faculty Focus website about Course Design, which is a good refresher even for those who have been teaching for some time.

Last, but not least, did you know that you can access Learning Outcomes for each program/course at LCC? To find yours, click on Program of Study Outcomes in Sharepoint and then…

  • log in  with your regular LCC log in information
  • click on “Completed Programs of Study Outcomes”
  • click on your Division, then your Department, then your program or course
