TLTT Spring 2022 Expectations

Instructors should…

  • Give feedback that can really help our course
  • Timely feedback & communication
  • Have compassion and understanding
  • New D2L techniques (this is something that eLearning can help with- we will cover course development, but not D2L specifically)
  • Tools for students engagement (f2f & online)
  • Know about and share concepts & ideas of how to transform learning through teaching
  • Help when there are questions
  • Facilitate meaningful discussions
  • Invigorate ideas for new teaching methodologies
  • Highlight important & meaningful moments in literature and our meetings to help focus attention & guide learning
  • Give ideas for how to encourage students to use the resources available for them.
  • Facilitate interaction amongst colleagues within the course
  • Patience
  • Exposure to tools that are available to us
  • Exposure to methods of pedagogy of teaching college students, including non-conventional students

Participants should…

  • Dedication to our craft as educators
  • Stay awake during class and be present
  • Engagement with articles/materials
  • Bring individual’s background/context to the interpretation of readings & resources
  • Effort & energy
  • Positive engagement
  • Interested and open to learning
  • Will apply ideas to teaching work
  • May see people eating (specifically boiled peanuts J)
